MULBERRY, Fla. - One person was killed after a 7-year-old boy was ejected from his car after a crash on SR-60 that shutdown the road for several hours.
Around 1:15 pm a 2005 Isuzu SUV was headed west near Royster Mine Road when the car drove onto the median and began to spin into the eastbound lanes.
That's when it collided with a 2004 Dodge Pickup, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. The SUV again was forced off the road, and a 7-year-old passenger, Ethan Jackson, was ejected from the car.
Passenger Pamela Smith, 37, of Lakeland, was sitting in the right front seat. She died at the scene.
6 others, including 2 other children from the SUV and the 2 people inside the Dodge, also suffered injuries in the crash.
