Man's body found in car at motel, warrant issued for suspect's arrest

POLK COUNTY, Fla. - A warrant is out for the suspect behind the homicide of a man's body found in a car outside of a Polk motel Saturday night, deputies said. 

Calvin Deon Jones, 26, has been positivity identified as the suspect in the murder of Orlando musician Damien Dominique Rahim, 37.

Authorities responded to a call of a dead man in a car parked in front of the Days Inn motel at 2425 Frontage Road in Davenport at 9:20 p.m. Saturday.

Authorities determined that Rahim was the victim of a homicide. Motel surveillance video shows a man believed to be Jones entering, circling and parking at the motel parking lot between 9:08 p.m. to 9:18 p.m.

Jones has a lengthy criminal history dating back to 2003, with charges of Resisting Arrest, driving with a without a license, possession of marijuana, failure to register a motor vehicle and an out of state fugitive warrant.

He was released from state prison in March of last year for Aggravated Battery with Deadly Weapon.
 
Jones of Lake Wales now faces a Felony Murder charge and Armed Robbery for Rahim’s death.

Jones is described as a black male, 5'6" tall, weighing 165 lbs.
