LAKELAND, Fla. - The Polk County Sheriff's Office may file charges related to a school brawl that was caught on camera.
A parent of a George Jenkins High School student in Lakeland sent us the video of the fight which was witnessed by dozens of teens.
The brawl broke out between at least five students. One student in a ROTC uniform was body slammed to the floor.
George Jenkins High School principal Buddy Thomas said they don't normally see this kind of trouble at this A-rated school.
"It doesn't happen very often, but when it does and kids put it on YouTube or Facebook, then what we try and do is calm everybody else down," Thomas said.
What you don't see in the video are administrators breaking the fight up seconds later and pulling out some of those involved.
While this fight looks rough, Thomas said there were no serious injuries.
The teen who was body slammed suffered just a bump on the head and walked away on his own.
"A lot of times they grab each other. The video looks like they are really punching and kicking, but actually they are just kind of rolling like big old teddy bears," Thomas said.
Thomas said punishment is pending for all the students involved and will be more severe for those who have been in trouble before.
