LAKELAND, Fla. - Officers responding to reports of gunfire found a man lying in his driveway with a gunshot wound to his chest early Tuesday. Investigators believe robbery was the motive.
The shooting occurred shortly before 4 a.m. in the 1200 block of North Virginia Avenue in Lakeland.
The victim told police he was a club promoter and had just arrived home when he was approached by two black males and shots were fired.
He was taken to Lakeland Regional Medical Center, where he was later listed in stable condition.
