LAKELAND, Fla. - Police are investigating 13 burglaries that have occurred during the month of October in the Lake Hollingsworth area of Lakeland.

Items taken range from laptop computers to cigarettes and loose change. Police are urging drivers to make sure their cars are locked. Authorities recommend people take any property of value from their vehicles.

Police also are asking residents in the area to report any suspicious activities to police, such as people looking into vehicles or loitering in places they should not be.
