AUBURNDALE, Fla. - The eastbound lanes of Interstate 4 were temporarily shut down due to a charter bus fire, but are now back open.

Traffic was diverted onto SR 570 while emergency crews are working.

According to Sergeant Steve Gaskins with the Florida Highway Patrol, emergency crews responded around 11:30 a.m. in Auburndale at mile marker 41.

Visible flames could be seen at the back of the bus, but firefighters quickly doused the blaze.

Officials say only the driver was in the bus, and that the cause was an engine fire.  The driver was taken to Lakeland Regional Medical Center with minor injuries, but he was not injured as a result of the fire.
