FT. MEADE, Fla. - A Polk County teacher is behind bars after she was accused of breaking into a home.
Investigators say Cherie Fields, who teachers at the Fort Meade Junior-Senior High School, and her husband Owen have been living in a home near Lakeland since March and filed an adverse possession. But the homeowners told investigators that no one had permission to be in that home.
The couple was arrested for burglary of a home, grand theft and scheming to defraud and are scheduled to make an appearance tomorrow morning.
