Detectives investigate death at Polk home after SWAT team responds to location

POLK COUNTY - Polk detectives are investigating a death at a home where a SWAT team responded to an armed male just hours earlier Thursday night.
Deputies arrived at the 4600 block of Ramblewood South Thursday around 9:50 p.m. in response to a man shooting toward homes in the Willow Oak neighborhood.
After that initial shooting, deputies learned the man went back inside of his home and returned to fire additional rounds. He then went inside his residence and was not seen again.
Members of the PCSO SWAT team responded and made entry into the residence where they found the male subject deceased of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.
A female neighbor, 52-year-old Fausia Castizo, was injured during the gunfire. She was transported to Lakeland Regional Medical Center where she was treated and released.
