POLK COUNTY, Fla. - A suspected cattle rustler is under arrest in Polk County and deputies say they are looking for an accomplice.
The suspect, who has not been identified, was arrested last night.
According to initial reports, the suspect told detectives that seven cows were sold at an Okeechobee livestock market for about $3,800.
Authorities targeted the suspects after viewing video of a red light violation on US Highway 27 on December 19.
Deputies believe the two may be responsible for other cattle rustling incidents in the Bay area.
Earlier in December, 12 Hereford beef cattle were stolen from an Auburndale farm.
The owner said thieves left behind evidence of grain in the troughs after they lured his cattle and loaded them onto a trailer. They also left tracks in the dirt and a gate with a broken lock.
