BARTOW, Fla. - The man accused of killing two women in a botched Lake Wales robbery took the stand in his own defense on Tuesday.  The crime was committed at a Lake Wales Insurance office in December 2007.

Leon Davis is accused binding Yvonne Bustamante and her pregnant sister-in-law, Jane Luciano, with duct tape, drenching them with gasoline and then setting them on fire.

Both women later died, as did Luciano's prematurely born son.

Davis told the jury he was surprised to learn there was a manhunt underway for him.

He said he told his mother, "I hurt somebady?"
