Woman's body found on Gandy Beach ID'd

PINELLAS County, Fla. - A body found on Gandy Beach in Pinellas County was originally thought to be a transient. Detectives now say that is not the case.
The victim is identified as Pamela Sue Simon, 51, of St. Petersburg.
A passerby came across her body east of the Banana Boat near some mangroves.
She was pronounced dead at the scene by Fire Rescue personnel.
According to a sheriff's statement, the death does not appear to be suspicious and may be health and/or alcohol or drug related.
