ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - An elderly woman and a man were rushed to the hospital following a crash with a tour bus in St. Petersburg, Wednesday morning.
Initial reports from investigators indicated that Virginia Frazier, 74, was driving southbound on 34th Street South and turned in front of a tour bus at the intersection of 22 Avenue South.
But late Wednesday afternoon, St. Petersburg Police released new information that they had obtained video from a red light camera which showed that the driver of the tour bus ran a red light.
Frazier was transported to Bayfront Medical Center as a trauma alert.
According to St. Petersburg police, she "coded" and died at the hospital, but was brought back to life by Bayfront Medical Center staff. She is listed in critical condition.
A passenger in the car, Eduardo Arana, 48, was also rushed from the scene as a trauma alert. He is expected to survive.
The bus, driven by 33-year-old David Watkins of Viola, Minnesota, had 41 people on board. None of them sustained any injuries.
They were all baseball players and coaches from the Rochester Community and Technical College in Rochester, Minnesota.
They were driving to a baseball tournament at Walter Fuller Park.
Investigators said charges are now pending.
