PINELLAS COUNTY, Fla. - A Pinellas County Deputy resigned Monday after a review board determined he had violated the agency's rules, regulations and operating procedures.
According to a sheriff's statement, Deputy Robert F. Johnson, 42, "had misrepresented the facts surrounding an off-duty encounter with a documented prostitute, on another occasion left his patrol area of responsibility before his shift was over, and, on another occasion, released exempt information to party (sic) outside the agency."
The Sheriff's Administrative Review Board came to the conclusions after an internal investigation that began September 12, 2012 and ended September 20.
Sheriff Bob Gualtieri signed off on the resignation in lieu of termination.
Johnson was hired by the agency in October 1999.
