Man charged with sexually battering boys

PINELLAS COUNTY, Fla. - Pinellas County detectives have arrested a 42-year-old man and charged him with sexual battery on three boys and molestation of a fourth child.

The alleged crimes came to light after one of the victims told his mother he had been sexually battered while he was between the ages of 6 and 16 by William Eugene Roberts.

The victim said he had concerns over other children who knew Roberts, according to a sheriff's statement.

The mother confronted the other children independently.  Each said they had been sexually battered by Roberts.

Detectives learned that Roberts, a truck driver, would be returning to the area on February 21.  He was arrested Thursday in Clearwater around 5:30 p.m.

Investigators are concerned there may be other victims.
