ELECTION RESULTS - Pinellas County Sheriff: Bob Gualtieri over Everett Rice

CLEARWATER - The Pinellas County Supervisor of Elections reported unofficial results for the Republican primary for Pinellas County Sheriff.
With more than 57% of the vote, Bob Gualtieri (REP) beat Everett Rice (REP).
Gualtieri said he wasn't surprised about the outcome, but expressed disappointment with attack ads.
"I hope that's over with. I don't see any reason for it. I think these races should be won on their merits, and that's what I hope for the general election."
Gualtieri will face Democrat Scott Swope and write-in candidate Greg Pound in November.
