SEMINOLE, Fla. - A man who advertised on Craigslist as a male nanny is facing child pornography charges, according to the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office.
Authorities had been looking for 21-year-old Daniel Cortopassi since the end of June, when he fled his Hillsborough County residence and moved to Pinellas County.
Detectives made contact with Cortopassi in St. Petersburg and obtained a search warrant for his computer where they found 278 child pornography videos, according to a sheriff's statement. They also discovered he had advertised online as a male nanny.
When deputies went to arrest Cortopassi, he had fled his St. Petersburg residence.
After a three-week search, they arrested him during a traffic stop in Seminole Tuesday night.
Cortopassi faces five counts of possessing child pornography and more charges are pending.
Investigators are concerned that Cortopassi may have been contacted in reference to the male nanny ads. Anyone with information is asked to call the Pinellas Sheriff's Crimes Against Children Unit at (727) 582-6200.
