The Pinellas County Sheriff's Office says 41-year-old Dunedin resident, James Clark was pulled from shallow water not breathing and taken to a local hospital where he later died.
The incident happened at Fort Desoto Park in Tierra Verde on Saturday around 3:00 p.m. According to Deputies, Clark was playing in the shallow water with his children at the north beach area of Fort Desoto Park when he collapsed.
His girlfriend and other beach goers pulled him from the water and found that he was not breathing. They then called 9-1-1 and started CPR. Paramedics transported Clark by ambulance to Bayfront Medical Center where he later died.
Deputies confirmed Clark did have an underlying heart condition and had suffered two previous heart attacks.
