Police release video of trio of siblings charged in Zephyrhills shooting and robbery

ZEPHYRHILLS, Fla. - The Pasco County Sheriff's Office released a dash-cam video recorded by a Zephyrhills police officer who was shot at while chasing a white sedan.

Deputies say the trio inside the sedan are the three siblings, called the Dougherty gang by some, accused of firing at a police officer before robbing a bank in Valdosta, Georgia.

Radio traffic with Officer Kevin Widner of the Zephyrhills Police Department that can be heard on the video includes:

 

  • :56 seconds- "I believe the car is occupied by two male subjects, shots were fired from the passenger side of the vehicle."
  • 1:27-"Speed over 100 miles an hour at this time."
  • 1:42-Sound of gunfire then Officer Widner shouts, "Oh S***!"
  • 1:57-"Fired several more shots at me."
  • 2:06-Widner gets an order to back off from the chase.
  • 2:09-"Got a flat tire so I'm not going to be able to keep up with him."
  • 2:23-"I'm going to try and stay as close as possible."
  • 2:54-"I can't go any farther, my car is going to be 10-7."
