ROCHESTER, N.Y. - The children of a Zephyrhills pastor were rescued from a canal in Rochester, NY.  They rolled into the water while strapped into a two-seat stroller, authorities said. One child is reported to be in grave condition.

Jon Clanton, the pastor at Grace Church of Zephyrhills, had traveled to Rochester, N.Y. for his son’s corneal implant surgery.

He went on a walk with the youngsters near the water after visiting the Ronald McDonald House Wednesday afternoon.

Sam and Selah Clanton, both 8 years old, were both strapped into a double stroller as their father walked them along the canal path, Pastor Tony Goddard of Christian Community Church in Rochester told WHAM.

Jon let go of the stroller for a moment to look away, and the stroller rolled off and went into the canal, Goddard said.

Jon and two women from the University of Rochester jumped into the water and tried to keep it above water until rescuers arrived.

Selah is in on a respirator, and was last reported in grave condition. Sam is still being evaluated.

Dad Jon was treated and released from the hospital.

The family keeps a blog online.  You can find it at http://myreallifebyyvonne.blogspot.com/ .
