ZEPHYRHILLS, Fla - Fire claimed the life of a 69-year-old Zephyrhills woman Wednesday night.
Pasco Deputies, Fire and the State Fire Marshall were called to a mobile home at 4728 Red Cardinal Court around 7:41 p.m. Wednesday.
According to Doug Tobin with Pasco Sheriff’s Office, Patricia Valead’s husband, 71-year-old Floyd Valead, arrived home from a trip to the store to find their mobile home on fire.
The husband was able to pull his wife from the residence. After emergency crews arrived, she was transported to Florida Hospital in Zephyrhills where she later died.
The husband was also transported with non-life threatening injuries.
A cigarette may be the cause of the fire, according to the Pasco Sheriff's Office. The State Fire Marshall will make the final determination.
