LAND O' LAKES, Fla. - A 27-year-old woman was thrown from the passenger seat of golf cart Sunday morning, Florida Highway Patrol reported.

Erika Robinson was riding along in a golf cart with 28-year-old Nathaniel Williams on Sheffield Road.

Williams was driving the cart and attempted to make a left hand turn into Lake Padgett Estates East bath Racquet Club.

Officials said as Williams made the turn, Robinson was thrown from the passenger side of the golf cart and onto the road.

She was transported to St. Joseph's Hospital for injuries she sustained in the accident. She later died from those injuries.

Charges may be pending in the case.

The incident is under investigation at this time.
