NEW PORT RICHEY, Fla. -
FROM PASCO COUNTY-
Pasco County ready to react to flooding conditions.
The National Weather Service (NWS) in Ruskin has issued a Hazardous Weather Outlook for our area forecasting periods of heavy rain due to a stalled front across the northern Florida Peninsula. Widespread rainfall amounts of up to two inches are possible Tuesday on top of the 4-6 inches that fell Monday. Locally heavier amounts are possible.
These heavy rains will likely produce some minor flooding of low lying and poor drainage areas as well as the ponding of water on roadways. Residents living in flood prone areas or along rivers or fast flowing streams should be alert for any rapid rises in water level and be ready to move to higher ground should flooding be observed. Do not try and drive through standing water it will endanger you and your vehicle.
As of this morning, there are no current road closures in Pasco County due to flooding and the ones that had water on them last night have drained. However, low lying areas or those normally prone to flooding could still experience standing water, or additional downpours could create new problems so please continue to use caution when driving.

- Pasco County Public Works Complex, 7530 State Street, New Port Richey
