WESLEY CHAPEL, Fla. - A tragic car accident has claimed the life of a 19-year-old man in the Wesley Chapel area.

According to Tampa Police, the call came in at around midnight.

When they arrived at the scene on Wild Tamarind Dr., they found a single vehicle flipped onto its roof in the middle of the road.

Tampa Police Spokesperson Andrea Davis said "speed was the factor" in the accident.

Surveying the scene, you can see where the vehicle hit a curb, ran down a curb and struck a sewer grate.  It then skidded and flipped onto its roof, sliding another 75 yards down the road.

Police say when that happened, the driver, William Gallagher, was partially ejected and pinned under the vehicle.

He died at the scene.

There were two others in the car.  Charles Trimbal, 16, was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Camron Davis, 21, left the scene but was later contacted by police.
