Suspect steals $15,000 in jewelry from Kay Jewelry Store in Lakeland

LAKELAND, Fla. - Polk County officials are searching for a man who swiped a piece of jewelry worth $15,000 at the Lakeland Square Mall on Tuesday.

The incident happened at the Kay Jewelry store and the suspect committed robbery by sudden snatching.

He is described as a light-skinned black man 32 to 35 years old, 6’2” and about 220 lbs.

His hair was pulled back or braided in a small pony tail. He was wearing a light green polo shirt and khaki pants.

The suspect jumped in the passenger side of a 4-door beige Nissan Maxima and fled. The driver and passenger windows were tinted, while the rear window was not.

Anyone with information is asked to call police.
