NEW PORT RICHEY, Fla. - Two 3-year-old fraternal twins were killed in a New Port Richey mobile home fire Monday morning, according to Pasco County officials, who say the victims are a boy and a girl.
Their home, on Gurnee Avenue in the Moon Lake area, was engulfed with flames coming from the windows when firefighters arrived.
Earlier reports indicated one person was killed and another badly burned.
Two other children who live in the home were at school. The children's mother escaped the flames with injuries. She was not able to get back inside to save them.
The blaze was extinguished around 9 a.m.
No further details were immediately available.
