Garbage truck rolls over New Port Richey man, killing him

NEW PORT RICHEY, Fla. - A 68-year-old New Port Richey maintenance man lost his life after a garbage truck ran over his body Thursday night.
According to NPR police, John David Parker of JD Parker and Sons, located on US 19, was performing maintenance on a garbage truck.
While Parker was working underneath the garbage truck, the vehicle suddenly started to roll and ran over Parker.
The maintenance worker was pronounced dead on the scene, and his next of kin have been notified.
