LAND 'O LAKES, Fla. - A man who spent 11 hours up in a tree to avoid arrest is now in custody.

Ray Allen Charron of Land 'O Lakes has been charged with battery on a law enforcement officer and resisting arrest with violence.

Around 2 p.m. Friday, deputies received a call about a man who pushed a man off a bike and then stole the bike by putting it in the back of his truck.  Deputies were able to locate the man and when deputies confronted him, he fled and climbed a 30 tree near the intersection of Bell Lake Road and Lade Padgett Road.

The suspect stayed up in the tree until 1 a.m. this morning before finally deciding to come down.
