TRINITY, Fla. - A Trinity Oaks homeowner got an unpleasant surprise Saturday afternoon.
Pete Tietgens heard a knocking at his front door. As he answered the door he found an almost five foot long alligator on his front porch.
Tietgens called Pasco County Sheriff’s Office who dispatched deputies to help catch the gator.
Deputies and Tietgens were able to corral the gator to a safe location, until Florida Fish and Wildlife officers could arrive to remove the reptile.
According to neighbors, this is was not the first gator seen in Trinity Oaks neighborhood. A bigger alligator was spotted walking down the street around Christmas time two years ago.
The alligator was captured and taken away from the home.
