PASCO COUNTY, Fla. - A woman driver with a child in her car struck and critically injured a bicyclist in Pasco County Monday morning. The driver told the bicyclist she would return and then left. She never came back and authorities are now looking for her.
The crash occurred around 9:30 a.m. at the intersection of Fox Hollow Drive and Regency Park Boulevard.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the bicyclist, 46-year-old Anthony Angelo Georgianna of Holiday, was traveling in the crosswalk on Fox Hollow Drive when he was struck. He was thrown on the hood of the car and then fell onto the roadway.
He was last listed in critical condition at Bayonet Point Hospital.
According to a release, the woman "exclaimed she would return shortly, and left the scene without providing any information or rendering aid as required by Florida law."
Authorities are now looking for a dark green or turquoise Pontiac 4-door, possibly a Grand Am or similar model which likely has damage to the left front.
The driver is described as a white female with dark hair, 23-28 years old. The child with her was a while male.
