PASCO COUNTY, Fla - A dog left to die inside a Pasco home has found a new forever home and has been renamed.
Sasha, a Rottweiler, was found severely malnourished inside the home of Michelle Schratwieser, 48, at 7709 Atherton Avenue in New Port Richey last month. Sasha's two siblings, were found dead.
Animal control officers took custody of Sasha, who could not see out of her eyes due to an abundance of mucous. Deputies say Sasha was shaking, malnourished and appeared to have eaten one of the dead dogs.
Sasha was lured out through a bedroom window with a piece of chicken. Deputies say the dog immediately drank three bowls of water and noted that her ribs were clearly visible.
Now, Sasha has found a new forever home in Tarpon Springs. She was adopted and renamed Angel.
Her knew owner told ABC Action News Angel is doing great after a lot of vet care and tender loving care.
Angel also has a new furry sibling name Bella. Bella is also a Rottweiler. According to her new owner, Angel is doing great and loves playing with Bella.
Schratweiser is facing felony cruelty to animals charges.
She is still being held on $1,500 bond at the Land O'Lakes Detention Center.
