TARPON SPRINGS, Fla. - The area of Tarpon Springs is rich in history, from the sponge diving industry to the annual Epiphany celebration.

Over the summer, there are quite a few fun events happening - including Night in the Islands - which features dinner, dancing, and live entertainment at the Sponge Docks on Dodecanese Boulevard between 6 p.m. and 11 p.m. on select nights.  The upcoming dates include August 4, September 7, October 5, and November 2.

Also this Saturday, July 21, the public is invited to the free Christmas in July at the Sponge Docks .

The parade kicks off at 11 a.m., and families can enjoy Elf Games, photos with Santa, and Santa Drill Team presentations.

While you're there, you can also visit the Tarpon Springs Aquarium , home to sharks, alligators, eels, lobsters, octopus, live coral, anemones and stingrays.

There's an entire room devoted to a Touch Tank, where you can safely pet and feed stingrays and small sharks.
