PALM HARBOR, Fla. - An innocent victim was injured by a stray bullet after someone fired shots from inside a moving car according to the Pinellas Sheriff's Office.
Detectives say 40-year-old William Freeman was sitting inside his home in the 1600 block of Lennox Road watching television Sunday night around 6:40 p.m., when someone inside a moving vehicle fired shots at two vehicles, a 2006 Freightline Truck cab and a 2006 Chevrolet Colorado SUV.
Both of the cars were parked outside the Cypress Lake Apartment Complex, located at 2350 Cypress Point Road.
One of the rounds fired at the cars went through the wall of Freeman's condo, wounding him in the face. His home is about 500 feet from where the vehicles were shot.
Deputies do not believe he was the intended target.
Freeman was taken to Bayfront Medical Center but he is expcted to recover.
Witnesses described the suspect vehicle as a white-four door, small sized pickup truck with mag chrome rims and a blue auxilary-type light on the dash. It was last seen heading south on Belcher Road.
No arrests have been made.
