Detectives identify body found in Lake Tarpon

No apparent signs of injury or cause of death

PALM HARBOR, Fla. - After responding to a report of a boat adrift on Friday, July 23, the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office Marine Unit found a body floating in Lake Tarpon. Detectives identified the man as 61 year old Thomas Charles Bryant of Gibsonton in Hillsborough County.

Deputies responded to 4597 Grand Lakeside Drive East in Palm Harbor after receiving a call about an unanchored boat in Lake Tarpon. The citizen who discovered the boat found no owner or occupants. The boat was towed to the address above as deputies arrived on the scene.

Marine and Flight Unit deputies conducted a search of the area and found the man's body.

There were no apparent signs of injury or cause of death, and deputies do not believe foul play was involved. The cause of death has not yet been determined, and the investigation is ongoing.
