OLDSMAR, Fla. - Pinellas County Sheriff's deputies successfully deployed a canine unit to track down a man suspected of breaking into a home and kissing the victim while she slept.

Andres Barreiro, 22, of Oldsmar was arrested early Wednesday morning on suspicion of burglary and other charges after police say he broke into an apartment.

According to deputies, the victim, 24-year-old Stacy Beauchamp awoke to someone rubbing her neck. She screamed and awakened her boyfriend 25-year-old Ramon Antonio Munoz.

Munoz said his girlfriend felt someone kissing on her face and neck as they slept in their bed. "She realizes it is not me. She shoves me. I woke up and chased him out of my bedroom."

The suspect ran into the living room, and Munoz said he checked on his two children, a five-year-old and a one-year old. Then he approached the burglar in the family living room.

"He looked stoned out of his mind," said Munoz. "He asked me if I had any bud. He walked out liked he owned the place."

Deputies say the suspect then fled out the front door and the victims called 911.

Patrol deputies and canine units responded to the scene around 2:11 a.m. Even though it was pitch black outside, Deputy Michael Kilian and his canine partner Axel made quick work of it. Cecelia Barreda from the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office said "The k9 picked up a fresh track and apprehended the suspect" by 2:40 a.m.

Munoz said, "That dog -- they were here ten minutes flat. They found him. I am happy we have K9's doing that type of work."

Barreiro was found just south of the apartment building near a lake, where he was laying in a grassy area.

Barreiro was charged with burglary to an occupied dwelling, felony possession of a controlled substance (Vicodin), felony possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
