LARGO, Fla. - On Tuesday, a jury began hearing gruesome details of human trafficking and forced prostitution at the hands of Treasure Island defendant, 37-year-old Colin Anthony Dyer.
The alleged 19-year-old victim told the jury she was forced in prostitution, repeatedly raped while pregnant, and even given drugs to calm and control her. According to her claims she'd been held against her will since February of last year, forced to dance and perform sexual acts at Vegas Show Girls, an adult club in St. Petersburg.
The abuse supposedly lasted ten days until the teen got an opportunity to speak to her father on a cell phone. According to a St. Petersburg Times report, she initially spoke with her father to get information because Kenyatta Cornelous, the alleged sexring leader, needed to get her some new identification. The victim was speaking from a carefully written script until another woman yelled, distracting Dyer, and the teen quickly told her father," Vegas Showgirls on Gandy, I'll be there till' 2 a.m., come save me, please."
However, according to the defense, the teen's story is nothing more than a story. The defense pointed out that she had been dancing before she ever met Collin Dyers, saying that she danced under the name, 'Tosha'.
"That's her lifestyle," the defense attorney said.
"She went to these night clubs and had sex with these men, all voluntarily done."
The defense attorney went on to say that they have evidence proving that the alleged victim is lying. The trial will continue tommorow. Check abcactionnews.com for the latest in this developing case.
