LARGO, Fla. - A Largo woman is accused of trying to kill a police officer and numerous other charges after a confrontation and subsequent pursuit early Friday.
The officer spotted Jamie Ramseur and a man getting out of stolen car around 12:45 a.m., according to a police statement.
When he tried to confront them, Ramseur allegedly bit the deputy and fled in the vehicle.
Investigators say she hit a dumpster, another vehicle, two people and ran over the officer's lower leg in the process.
Other officers eventually tracked down the stolen vehicle with Ramseur still inside, trying to hide. When an officer approached, Ramseur tried to flee again and almost pinned the officer against another vehicle, according to the statement.
Moments later, she crashed the stolen vehicle and fled on foot.
A K-9 unit found Ramseur hiding behind some trees in the backyard of a residence.
She is now faces a long list of charges including attempted felony murder of a law enforcement officer, resisting arrest with violence felony hit and run with injuries, fleeing and eluding, violation of probation, aggravated battery on a law enforcement officer, aggravated fleeing and eluding, driving with a revoked drivers license, possession of crack cocaine, grand theft, resisting without violence, felony hit and run with property damage, reckless driving and open container.
Her male companion has not been found or identified.
