CLEARWATER, Fla. - Three people are displaced after a two-alarm fire that started near the roof of a two-story Clearwater condo got destroyed their home.
The fire broke out just after midnight in an end unit of a condominium complex on the 2080 block of Edgewater Drive in Clearwater.
A man and a woman were inside the home at the time the fire started, but they were able to get out safely.
It took 30 minutes for firefighters to bring the fire under control.
The upper floor of the end unit was destroyed in the fire, displacing those residents. A man living in an adjacent unit was also displaced due to some water and smoke damage.
The families all have a place to stay, so Red Cross assistance wasn’t needed.
Officials say the fire appeared to started in or near the attic, and its currently under investigation.
