CLEARWATER - Our Sean Daly is spending Saturday morning at Clearwater Marine Aquarium, home of the star of the new film Dolphin Tale.
The movie is inspired by the true story of Winter the dolphin who overcame the loss of her tail through the first-of-its-kind prosthetics dolphin tale. Winter, who lives at the Clearwater Marine Hospital where the film was shot, plays herself in the movie.
Dolphin Tale stars Harry Connick, Jr., Ashley Judd, Nathan Gamble, Kris Kristofferson and Morgan Freeman. It is produced by Broderick Johnson and Andrew A. Kosove, Academy Award nominees for The Blind Side.
The movie hits theaters nationwide on Sept. 23. The Clearwater Marine Aquarium will host a 3-D screening at Ruth Eckerd Hall on Sept. 21.
Supporting cast, production crew members and local celebrities will attend the red-carpet event. Tickets are on sale for $99. They include two free passes to the aquarium. To purchase tickets visit SeeWinter.com.
