CLEARWATER, Fla. - Pinellas County Sheriff's Office investigators say they believe a 34-year-old mother took the lives of her two children - then committed suicide.
Deputies responded to 2015 Sidney Street in unincorporated Clearwater after receiving a call for assistance Saturday around 2 a.m.
Upon their arrival, they discovered Dawn Brown and her two children deceased in the house.
Brown's husband, Murphy, 36, came home around 2 a.m. and discovered his wife and children dead inside the house.
Although the investigation is still ongoing, it is believed that Brown killed the children and then hung herself, utilizing an electrical cord from a bedroom ceiling fan.
Authorities say the children were ages 5 and 9, but have not said how they died.
The children's cause of death will be released pending an autopsy.
