CLEARWATER, Fla. - A pedestrian was killed late Sunday night when a bicycle with 2 people on it struck him when he was walking on the Memorial Causeway bridge in Clearwater.
Dean Bartolo was heading eastbound on the walkway just before 11:30 p.m. when a bicycle was going down the bridge at a high rate of speed, according to Clearwater Police.
Spokeswoman Elizabeth Watts said two people were on the bicycle, with one on the seat and a 2nd person riding on the handle bars.
When the bike and Bartolo collided, the pedestrian suffered a fatal head injury and was pronounced dead at the scene. The two people on the bike were taken to the hospital but their conditions are not known at this time.

A Largo Massage therapist was arrested Monday for sexual battery and detectives are now looking for other possible victims, according to a sheriff's statement.
