Motorcyclist killed after hitting motorist making u-turn on SR 60, police say

CLEARWATER, Fla. - A motorcyclist was killed early Wednesday when he struck a car making an illegal u-turn on State Road 60, according to Clearwater police.
The victim is identified as Torin G. Quiles, 22, of Largo.
Police say Virginia J. Graham, 60, of Clearwater was traveling westbound on SR 60 around 2 a.m. and passed through the Highland Avenue intersection. Quiles was traveling east on 60 at a high rate of speed when Graham pulled into his path while making the u-turn.
Quiles struck the rear of the car. He was pronounced dead while being transported to Morton Plant Hospital.
There was no immediate word on charges.
