HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. - The teen suspect accused of rape and armed robbery won’t be back to school next Tuesday, after being denied bond Saturday morning.

At 7:50 a.m., 18-year-old Cedric Whipple made his first court appearance, facing three counts of armed robbery and one count of sexual battery.

A Hillsborough detective testified in the case and the judge denied Whipple bond.

Deputies stated earlier that the18-year-old went on a three day crime spree near the Westfield citrus Park shopping mall.

The first robbery allegedly took place at a Papa John’s pizza parlor across the street from Sickles High School. The robber wore a mask and pulled a gun on the cashier.

A day later, deputies believe the same suspect robbed a Subway Shop on Citrus Park Drive.

The final robbery was outside a dentist’s office on Gunn Highway.

A woman was accosted, robbed at gunpoint and sexually battered, deputies said.

Whipple was scheduled to begin his junior year at Sickles High School on Tuesday. Although school officials were not sure if Whipple would have been allowed back to school, Whipple must remain behind bars.
