TAMPA - More than a month after Gwen Belcher’s body was found in her burned-up car, an arrest warrant was issued for the victim’s husband Thursday evening.
The Crime Stoppers of Tampa Bay is offering up to a $1,000 for information that leads to the arrest on 43-year-old Christopher Belcher.
Once Belcher is arrested, he will be charged with second degree murder and Arson of an Occupied Structure, the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office confirms.
Her skeletal remains were found in her burned car on September 17, the day after officials say she got into a fight with her husband.
Christopher was released from jail October 2, after the State Attorney's office dropped charges of domestic violence due to lack of evidence.
But On October 3, the medical examiner’s office confirmed that Gwen, mother of three had been murdered, upgrading the case to a homicide.
Christopher has now been identified as a suspect.
Once he has been arrested, a press conference will held outlining additional details of the investigation.
Christopher is described as a black male, 5'6", 180 pounds with a bald head and brown eyes.
