HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. - A Riverview man faces a careless driving charge after losing control of his Honda Civic and crashing into a Hillsborough deputy's cruiser, according to a statement.

The crash occurred around 7:30 a.m. Tuesday.

Deputies say Raymond Clendinen, 30, was traveling northbound in the center lane on U.S. 301 at I-75 when he lost control and skidded into Deputy Milo Millovitch's cruiser, which was parked in the median.

The deputy was not injured and Clendinen was taken to a hospital to be checked out and medically cleared.

Damage to both vehicles was put at $7,000.

It was not immediately clear why Clendinen lost control of his Civic.
