HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. - A driver was killed when he lost control of his pickup truck and was thrown from the vehicle south of Ruskin early Monday, the Florida Highway Patrol said.
Williams Joseph Tront, Jr., of Nokomis, Fla. was traveling northbound on I-75 shortly before 3 a.m. when he veered onto the right shoulder of the highway.
He steered left and over-corrected causing his Chevrolet S-10 the spin across the northbound lanes.
The truck then flipped over and Tront was ejected from the vehicle, which came to rest in the median. He was not wearing a seatbelt, according to the FHP.
Tront was taken to Tampa General Hospital where he later died.
There were no other injuries.
The crash remains under investigation.
