RUSKIN, Fla - Two people were taken to the hospital after their car collided into some trees Saturday morning, Hillsborough County Sheriff deputies say.
The crash happened just after 7:30 a.m. at Shell Point Road and 5 th Street Northeast.
Melgin Colindres-Baquedano, 24, was driving a red Ford Mustang westbound on East Shell Point when the car crossed over the median and veered off the road, for unknown reasons.
The car kept going off the road until it struck two trees. Colindres- Baquendano and the passenger, Lazaro Hernandez-Flores, 46, were flown to Tampa General Hospital with serious injuries.
Deputies believe alcohol was a factor in the crash. It is still under investigation.
