Man shot twice after heated argument

TAMPA - Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office is searching for a man believed to have been involved in an attempted murder early Sunday morning.

Jose Aviles-Maldonado, 34, allegedly approached the victim, Brian Agee, 43, in his 1999 blue SUV on the corner of 139 ^th Avenue and 15 ^th Street in Tampa.

Police say the two men became involved in an argument.

The arguments escalated to the point were Maldonado got out of his car flashed a handgun, aimed it at Agee and fired twice, striking him in the abdomen and the right arm.

Maldonado fled the scene in his SUV.

Agee was later transported to a nearby hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Maldonado is described as a 5'9 to 5'11, 170 pounds with black hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing shorts, a hat and a gray sweat shirt.
