Fire crews extinguish 35 acre brush fire in Riverview

RIVERVIEW, Fla. - Hillsborough  County Fire Rescue crews responded to a call concerning a brush fire around noon Saturday.

The 35 acre brush fire was in the area of Rhodine Road and Rising Oak Trial in Riverview.

Crews fought the fire for five hours protecting homes and the RVR Horse Rescue that were in the area of the fire.

RVR Horse Rescue had to move their horses at one point due to the fire getting close to the property.

All homes, and the rescue, were unharmed and no animals, or humans, were injured during the fire.

Crews are still checking for hot spots, but the fire is out at this time.

The cause of the brush fire is still undetermined at this time.
