SEFFNER, Fla - Hillsborough County deputies say a Tampa man intentionally administered a lethal dose of medication to his girlfriend which resulted in her death. His girlfriend was a quadriplegic.
Timothy Harrison, 54, 8419 El Portal Drive in Tampa, is now charged with felony murder and aggravated abuse of a disabled adult.
According to an arrest report, on January 27, 2013, at 1:32 p.m., the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office received a 911 call reporting a sick person at 11213 Hobart Court in Seffner.
Deputies say when they arrived, they found Mary Baker, 59, lying on her back in the bedroom of the residence. Also at the residence was Harrison who identified himself to officials as Baker's boyfriend and caretaker. Harrison reportedly told deputies he was also in charge of dispensing medication to Baker.
Paramedics tried treating Baker but she was pronounced dead at 2:03 p.m.
An autopsy was performed. Weeks later when toxicology tests came back, they showed Baker had extremely high levels of Fluoxetine and Bupropion in her system.
The Hillsborough County Medical Examiner determined cause of death to be prescription medication toxicity.
Deputies say between January 24, 2013, and January 27, 2013, Harrison was responsible for feeding Baker and administering all of her medications.
Harrison administered lethal amounts of prescription medications to Baker resulting in her death, deputies say.
