HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. - The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office says a former pro wrestler is in custody for allegedly stabbing his girlfriend to death.
Brian McGhee, 29, was known as "The Future" in the WWE world, but his future now looks pretty dim.
Deputies say McGhee stabbed his ex-girlfriend, Bianca McGaughey, 25, multiple times in the neck and torso as they argued at Tampa's San Marino Apartments.
The bitter fight, neighbors said, started on Saturday, but ended Wednesday outside of Aveon Yarborough's apartment.
"I seen the dude come back, got on top of her and just started stabbing," he said.
Deputies said the victim had dated the pro wrestler previously, but the pair broke up a year ago.
"I heard the screams and I came down. Then I went back up and called 9-1-1," said Lisa Jo Dooley, a next door neighbor. "The man actually got up on the bark and stood over her."
Deputies said McGhee then jumped into his car and got as far as I-75 and U.S. 41 in Pasco County before he was arrested.
"He crashed his vehicle and refused to get out of the car so they deployed one of our K-9's 'Chino'. 'Chino' actually got into the vehicle and helped in the apprehension of him," said Debbie Carter, Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office spokesperson.
A photo of a bloody gash is posted on what appears to be McGhee's Facebook page, but it's not clear if it is his wrist.
McGhee was booked into the Pasco County Jail Thursday morning and sent to a mental health facility.
He will face a first-degree murder charge in Hillsborough County.
